MEDIA MINING SERVER Increasing volume of multimedia data require means for storage and easy access to information. The Media Mining Server turns your audio library from a collection into a tool.
HARDWARE PREREQUISITES
The Media Mining Server does not require any specific hardware. Like any Media Asset Management software, the hardware requirements are mostly determined by the requirements for storing media files, associated metadata and the requirement to achieve response time during periods of peak load.
Media Mining software typically operates on the following hardware:
The disk storage requirements can be estimated as follows: one hour of video encoded at Dual ISDN bandwidth (128 kbit/s) takes approx. 120 MB. The associated metadata requires approx. 250 kB of storage. 200 GB of disk space hold approximately 200GB / 120MB = 1660 hrs of video. We assume that we need some buffer for disk administration and that the database needs approx. 10% of the size of the media for storing the transcript and metadata, so this gives us a net space for approx. 1600 hrs of content.
REQUIRED SOFTWARE FOR MEDIA MINING SERVER
The following software is prerequisite for installation of Media Mining Server. It must be installed on the server machine before Media Mining Server is installed on the server machine.
REQUIRED SOFTWARE FOR THE WEB APPLICATION
The following software is required on client machines in order to run the Media Mining Server's Web Application.
The Episode Management Center (EMC) is an administrative utility, which is installed with Media Mining Server. You can use the EMC to copy episodes from one server to another server, and to remove episodes from a server. Also, with the EMC you can alter meta-info. This means that you can edit:
Stories cannot be edited at this level.
The Management Console is a utility of Media Mining Server that provides a system administration function for the setting of user and access rights. With the MC you can:
